Bacon wrapped chicken with herbs

3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 package bacon
2 tbl thyme
1 tbl Italian seasoning
1 pinched crushed red peppers
1/2 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp salt

Filet chicken into thin strips
Cover one side with seasoning mix
Roll and wrap with bacon strips
Poke with tooth pick

Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes

Add cubed cheddar cheese for an extra delicious bite sized treat

Delish!

If I start the day with something healthy I can carry myself through the day with better choices.

It's best to have on hand two fresh fruits and some juice in the fridge. Until I have a juicer I will have to adapt with my blender.

While visiting some family friends in Marlow-on-Thames and longing for some canine love, I happened to meet this little Chihuahua chappy, who's name is Poser. We had a cuppa tea, read the paper and I rubbed his belly! Just before this photo was taken Poser was sitting on my shoulder like a parrot on a pirate! Right as we were about to take the snap he thought better of this pose and ran around to the end of the sofa cushion!

I don't know why, but this week I have been terribly hungry by the time the clock strikes meal time. So what better meal to feed an empty tummy than a big steak dinner! There was a deal on T-bone steaks at the shop too! We marinaded the steak with garlic, onion, salt and pepper plus Hubby's secret ingredient and grilled them on the BBQ. I added a dollop of blue cheese on the top too! Oh yes! We had jacket potatoes with butter and prawn mayo plus green beans with lemon and olive oil. Needless to say I slipped into a food coma afterwards!

Today is photoshoot day at Leyendecker, we are presenting Summer 2012 this week in NYC.

In other news, I had a ridiculous dream last night. For some odd reason I purchased an ugly Givenchy bag and had immediate buyers remorse. I have never invested in a bag and certainly wouldn't go big like that. Considering the $3000 price tag and my anxiety in dream world I don't see a bag happening anytime soon.

We headed up to Ventura last weekend to pitch up our tents in Santa Paula. Sunny days, lovely hikes, tired dogs, thrift store bargains, great mates, lots of gin, bubbly, boom box, zip lines and hearty meals by the campfire made for a great holiday weekend.

I have managed to gather a rather smart set of ties, cravats and bow ties from my Dad's collection. This multicolored spotty one goes well with my pink shirt and makes me look very profesh!

It's hot and sunny in L.A today. But I still take a jacket out with me, just in case the wind begins to blow my way! After all it is supposed to be winter!

Apart from the shirt (Goodwill for $4.00) and the jeans (reduced to $10 at Urban) everything I am wearing was given to me! The jacket was my Mum's. The bow tie was my Dad's. The boots were given to me from Kiley. Bargain outfits are the best! As well as friends and family with good sense of style to steal (ummm I mean borrow) from!

Thanksgiving Centerpiece

1 medium wreath

16 glass votive candle holders

1 package of faux or preserved leaves

1 glue gun

5 glue sticks

Carefully apply hot glue to the middle section of each glass

Wrap leaves in a single layer and allow glue to set

This is my modern and affordable solution to the classic Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Simple with great texture and the candlelight glows a lovely fall hue.

BAKED APPLES

Baked Apples

Serves 2

2 Fresh apples

2 Tablespoons of butter

1/2 Cup of brown sugar

1 Teaspoon of cinnamon

1/8 Teaspoon of nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350

Cut off top of apple

Scoop out most of the apple meat. Be careful not to puncture the bottom

Mix dry ingredients. Scoop into apples evenly.

Place 1 tablespoon slice of butter on top of each apple

Dust with cinnamon and bake

Bake uncovered for 15 minutes or until the apple skin lightly browns

Allow apples to slightly before serving

Serve with vanilla ice cream

For a relaxing kayak convoy, all you need is:

1) A kayak containing a man with strength and "guns" to lead the convoy

2) Several ships carrying one or more sun kissed maidens

3) A rope to keep convoy connected

4) A trusty swimming dog to make sure everyone is safe

Summer is here and that means that I want to do everything outside: eat outside, sleep outside and watch films outside.

This weekend we went to our mates house for a night of barbecued meats, bubbly drinks and a DIY outdoor cinema. The cool night air was perfect, as we giggled at Cheech and Chong in "Up in Smoke."
